Students and lecturers communicate through a variety of channels. Staff office hours are intended for direct, personal contact. Each member of academic staff (with the exception of external lecturers) has office hours and can be found in one of the rooms in Harfenstraße 16 or Katholischer Kirchenplatz 9.

Emails should be reserved for sending lecturers important messages (if, for example, a student is due to be giving a presentation but falls ill). E-mails are not to be used for general enquiries; given the increasing student numbers, answering such messages would be too time-consuming.

The departmental website contains a great deal of information about matters such as: general office and staff office hours; study and assessment; academic staff profiles; and projects currently being carried out in the department.

Digital Learning Materials

Digital learning and teaching materials are made available online via the StudOn virtual learning environment.

Departmental Mailing List

All students in the Book Studies department must make sure they are subscribed to the mailing list. This is frequently used to convey important messages about courses (timetable changes, specific content-related information, etc.). The list is also used to draw students' attention to upcoming guest lectures and talks, as well as to forward information about practical placements and job opportunities. We strongly recommend that students check their emails for messages from the "Buwi-Liste" at least once a day.

How can I subscribe to the mailing list?
